Over the past ten years, eucalyptus stumpage prices in Brazil have experienced strong growth, mainly driven by robust demand from the pulp and paper, wood panels, and bioenergy sectors.
To monitor this dynamic, we developed the BTSI-E – Brazilian Timber Stumpage Index (Eucalyptus). The index is calculated based on volume-weighted eucalyptus stumpage prices across Brazil’s main eucalyptus-producing states (Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul), using 2013 as the base year (2013 = 100).
Built from Consufor’s proprietary database, the BTSI-E aims to provide a transparent benchmark for investors, forestry companies, and analysts monitoring timber price dynamics in Brazil.
In the first quarter of 2026, the index reached 286 points, highlighting the magnitude of the appreciation observed in eucalyptus stumpage prices over the past decade.
