A decade of change in Brazil’s pine stumpage market.
Over the past ten years, pine stumpage prices in Southern Brazil have experienced a remarkable increase, reflecting shifts in timber supply, strong industrial demand, and structural changes in the regional wood market.
To track this evolution, we developed the BTSI-P – Brazilian Timber Stumpage Index (Pine). The index is based on volume-weighted stumpage prices across the main pine producing states in Brazil (PR, SC, RS, SP) and uses 2013 as the base year (2013 = 100).
Today, the index stands at 316, illustrating the magnitude of the price appreciation observed in the Brazilian pine stumpage market over the last decade.
The BTSI-P is built from Consufor’s proprietary timber market database and is intended to provide a transparent reference for investors, forest companies, and market analysts monitoring wood price dynamics in Brazil.
